Christmas is meant to be a peaceful, joyful and happy season. This is the message conveyed to us by the angelic choir, proclaimed by John the Baptist, witnessed by Joseph, Mary, the shepherds and the Magi.

“Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her king,” sing the angels.

“Behold, the Lamb of God, behold Him who takes away the sins of the world” declares John the Baptist.

“Proclaim the joyful message that our God is coming to earth…Cry out with joy and gladness and announce the day of the Lord!” we sing with happy hearts.
“Unto us a child is born: Come, let us adore!” as Joseph, Mary and the shepherds remind us.

“We three kings of Orient are; Bearing gifts, we travers afar…Following yonder star” sing the Magi.

“Peace I give you” says the Lord Jesus. “Not as the world gives, but as I give.”

The scriptures are our carols during this season all remind us of the wonderful gifts given to all of us by the new born king Jesus whose birth we celebrate throughout this season.
We the priest, deacons and staff pray for and wish to all of you, our parish family the joy, happiness and peace that has been given to the world and especially those who follow closely in the steps of Jesus the Savior, as you walk with Him here at the pariah of St. Maria Goretti.

Merry Christmas!

Msgr. Earl Gauthreaux, Pastor
