Hurricane Katrina Devastated St. Maria Goretti Church just like much of the city of New Orleans. The Church was submerged in 4 ft of water for at least a week. The Parish along with the surrounding neighborhood was destroyed. 4 years after Katrina the parish is back and the neighborhood is slowly coming back.
