Update:: Re: Reopening of St. Maria Goretti Church
The City of New Orleans announced in its Reopening Plan that places of worship are now allowed to have Mass indoors with up to 100 people. Therefore, in accordance with Mayor Cantrell's plan, we will now expand our reservation slots from 10 people per Mass to 100 people per Mass. Please read the requirements for attending Mass carefully.
Reminder: The obligation to attend Mass during the COVID-19 pandemic has been dispensed by Archbishop Aymond.
We have setup online donations to give parishioners the opportunity to donate as they would if operations had not been interrupted due to the Novel Coronavirus. The Parish appreciates your generosity. To donate, please click the "Give Now" button below. Please have your credit/debit card or bank account number ready.

BIBLE STUDY CLASSES TO CONTINUE VIA CONFERENCE CALL
BIBLE STUDY – LORD INCREASE MY FAITH? Deacon Terrel Broussard will continue to publish the Bible Study and post it on the parish website. To attend the Bible Study by Conference Call, dial into the conference line at 7:00 PM Monday Night for a discussion of the Sunday readings. The Dial in Number is: (425) 436-6314. The Access Code is: 601575. The Word of God can move us from fear to faith. This week, we continue our Lenten preparation and study of the Word of God with the GENERAL THEME: LORD, INCREASE MY FAITH? During week 5 we ask: LORD, GIVE ME A FAITH THAT IS ALIVE?
· The Bible Study this week is based on the readings for the Fifth Sunday in Lent Year A. Reading I: Ezekiel 37:12-14; Responsorial Psalm: 130:1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8; Reading II: Romans 8:8-11; Gospel: John 11:1-45.
· These readings challenge us to come out of the tombs of our fears into a life in Jesus Christ. Jesus gives life to all who believe in Him. He gives life to dead and dying faith. Lord, give me faith that is alive. IS YOUR FAITH ALIVE? HOW DO YOU KNOW?
FAITH FORMATION & RCIA TO CONTINUE VIA CONFERENCE CALL
CONTINUING FAITH FORMATION AND RCIA SESSIONS WILL MEET BY CONFERENCE CALL ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT 7:00 PM. THE DIAL IN NUMBER IS: (425) 436-6314. THE ACCESS CODE IS: 601575. Topic: Baptism, why water? Why anointing? What does it mean to be enlightened with grace and truth? “ Catechism of the Catholic Church 1216 "This bath is called enlightenment, because those who receive this [catechetical] instruction are enlightened in their understanding . . . ." Having received in Baptism the Word, "the true light that enlightens every man," the person baptized has been "enlightened," he becomes a "son of light," indeed, he becomes "light" himself:
Baptism is God's most beautiful and magnificent gift. . . .We call it gift, grace, anointing, enlightenment, garment of immortality, bath of rebirth, seal, and most precious gift. It is called gift because it is conferred on those who bring nothing of their own; grace since it is given even to the guilty; Baptism because sin is buried in the water; anointing for it is priestly and royal as are those who are anointed; enlightenment because it radiates light; clothing since it veils our shame; bath because it washes; and seal as it is our guard and the sign of God's Lordship.
