By order of the governor of Louisiana, and the Mayor of New Orleans the state and city will enter Phase I re-opening effective 16 May 2020. Churches in New Orleans may conduct public Mass with in person with the fewer of a maximum of 25% of the church’s seating capacity or 100 people, provided that all social distancing practices are met. Here at St. Maria Goretti we can safely accommodate 100 people. We give thanks to God for this opportunity to worship together again as a community within the Church! We give thanks to God for this opportunity to worship together again as a community within the Church!
In order to follow the state and city guidelines, we are asking each family to sign up for the Mass they would like to attend. (SIGN UP LINK BELOW) We ask that you SIGN UP FOR ONLY ONE SUNDAY MASS EVERY TWO WEEKS AND ONLY ONE WEEK DAY MASS EVERY TWO DAYS so that as many people as possible can attend Mass. Please submit the name of each individual whom you are registering to attend Mass. Once the maximum number of people is reached for a Mass, the form will not allow you to sign up for that Mass. If you sign up for more than one Mass every two weeks, your name will be deleted. As the number allowed in Churches is expanded, we will allow parishioners to sign up to attend Mass each week. Everyone is still dispensed from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass. If you are healthy, we invite you to come to church. If you are sick, please wait until you recover to attend Mass. Due to the limited spaces available, you must sign up.
